On Saturday April 26th, Yummy Market Maple (1390 Major Mackenzie Dr. W.) in partnership with Vaughan Fire and Rescue as well as York Regional Police hosted an extremely successful event supporting the Vaughan Food Bank. Peter Wixson of the Vaughan Food Bank was on hand to kick off Yummy Market’s first ever Spring Food Drive. Visitors at Yummy Market were treated to a unique shopping experience, as firefighters and police officers were on hand to package groceries for customers. The fun didn't end upon leaving the store however, as York Regional Police and Vaughan Fire and Rescue vehicles were proudly displayed outside for all to see. In addition, many excited children were able to enter a fire truck and police cruiser, as well as take home some fun prizes for themselves.
The Vaughan Food Bank would like to extend its most sincere thanks towards everyone who made this event the huge success that it was. Everyone who was in attendance truly had an excellent time, evidence of which can be seen in the gallery below. Furthermore, all contributions made to the Food Bank on this day were greatly appreciated – it is with your support that we can strive to serve our community to the best of our ability!
