Charity Hockey Game nets $1000.00 for Vaughan Food Bank
Sat Jul 21, 2007

The Vaughan Professional Fire Fighters Association (VPFFA) and the Toronto Police Hockey Association have recently donated $1000.00 to the VFB. This donation was made possible through a charity hockey game, held at the Sports Hockey Complex on Rutherford Road in Maple.

The game included such famous NHL hockey players as Eddie Shack and Dale Hawrylchuk. The infamous Eddie "Clear the Track here comes" Shack was the referee of the event. Dale Hawrylchuk was one of the two former NHL players who helped to made up the roster of the two talented teams. The game was one which both players and spectators enjoyed (even if some of the calls from Eddie Shack were questionable).

This is not the first Charity Event that the VPFFA Hockey Club and the Toronto Police Hockey Club have used to help support local organizations such as the Vaughan Food Bank. The funds they raised will help through the summer months when supplies are particularly low. The Vaughan Food Bank would like to extend its many thanks to everyone involved for such a successful event.

Savour Vaughan
