MaryAnn Kearney and her corporate team of employees from Bausch & Lomb of Vaughan, Ontario in conjunction with " The International Day of Caring ", provided tremendous support to the Vaughan Food bank with their special food drive.
In early May, several barrels were supplied to Bausch & Lomb in preparation for their food drive. Each department decorated the barrels very artistically. The drive was so successful that Maryann Kearney had to request more barrels.
On May 11 & 12, employees from various departments invaded the food bank to assist in sorting and packing the items donated by their company as well as items donated by others.
After a brief prep talk by Vaughan Food Bank Director Peter Wixson, the well organized group o of employees set to work. Some sorted items, some packed and sealed boxes and some stocked depleted shopping shelves and one assisted in a food pick up.
In two afternoons, the staff from Bausch & Lomb accomplished what would normally have taken a week to complete. A feat well appreciated.
On behalf of the Vaughan Food Bank and it's needy recipients, Peter Wixson Director of Vaughan Food Bank, extends a hearty thanks to all of those who participated.
