In partnership with the Vaughan Food Bank and The City of Vaughan's My Vaughan Shines WinterLights Celebrations, the CPR Holiday Train will be stopping in Vaughan on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 8:45 p.m. This initiative is geared to raise food, money and awareness for the Vaughan Food Bank.
The CPR Train is one contribution the CPR makes to the communities in which they operate and the places where their employees live.
Since the Holiday Train program began in 1999, more than $2.4 million and 1.2 million lbs. of food have been collected.
The Holiday Train, decorated with thousands of coloured lights will arrive at the Nashville Road Crossing (west of Hwy 27 - see map below) just north of the grain elevator at railside.
At 8:45 p.m. after a brief introduction and presentation to the Vaughan Food Bank, a holiday show will commence featuring rock sensation "Wide Mouth Mason" and new Canadian pop artist Melanie Doane.
